Top Performing Hedge Fund, OTC Operations Specialist
A rapidly expanding city based hedge fund is looking for a strong candidate to join their Derivatives Operations team.
The Hedge Fund has doubled in size over the last 15 months and due to similar expected growth over the next 18 months, the candidate will be offered a variety of interesting progression opportunities within the organisation.
The role will expose the candidate to a wide variety of products. This includes CDS/IRS/OTC Derivatives/Commodities. It is a challenging role, with high level responsibility, as you will be expected to take on senior tasks, including completing projects and reports for senior management and the COO.
The department sits next to the Traders so you see and understand the products from start to finish. Furthermore, this gives you the opportunity to be in constant contact with the Traders and discuss any issues with them. So, in terms of learning and development this is a great opportunity.
The progression opportunities are varied as you will be allowed to move into supervisory positions within Ops, move into the FO (due to the exposure that this role would give you to set you up for that move), or move into a middle office function (Product Control, Risk Management).
You will be working for an organisation that prides itself on its culture. You will be offered a salary above the usual market rate and bonuses would always be a minimum of 30%.
We need candidates that come from a strong operations background, who preferably have good derivative knowledge and have been exposed to settlements/reconciliations. Strong academics are essential for this role.
