My Client based in West Midlands, a long standing Aerospace company, are looking for a Stress Engineer Salary up to £36000/ negotiable dependant on skills and experienceAs a Stress engineer tasks will include the design and detail stress analysis of components including Hydraulic Pressure Vessels and Control Units, Housings, Piston Rods, Gears, Bearings, Shafts and Ball-Screws. As a result of growth we are now looking for a Stress Engineer whose tasks will include the design and detail stress analysis of components including Hydraulic Pressure Vessels and Control Units, Housings, Piston Rods, Gears, Bearings, Shafts and Ball-Screws.Project involvement may include the analysis of primary and secondary flight controls including hydraulic, geared, mechanical and electro-mechanical actuators. Is required to produce stress calculations, engineering documentation including stress plans and stress reports. You will also have an input to development and qualification testing. The Project Stress Engineer role, requiring substantial relevant experience and product knowledge, will be expected to take full responsibility for all stress aspects in connection with a project, including the approval of Bodyline Drawings, Manufacturing Drawings and Concessions.Principal Accountabilities:Accountable to the appropriate Product Team Technical Manager for the timely delivery of project deliverables including: -Detail stress calculations.Input to the definition of design schemes and detail drawings.Documentation including stress plans and stress reports.Accountable to the Chief Stress Engineer for : -The quality and completeness of analysis and related documentation.Stress approvals.Experience Preferably Degree Qualified in Mechanical Engineering, similar engineering or science subject, possessing aircraft actuation product knowledge.Experience of stress analysis including the preparation of classical `hand' calculations, PC based analysis tools and finite element analysis.Knowledge of structures, hydro- and electro-mechanical actuation systems.Knowledge of materials; their mechanical, static and fatigue properties.Understanding of the influence of manufacturing processes on the strength of components.Analytical, problem solving approach.
