Start Date – ASAPSalary – £35,500 - £43,000A Senior Ecologist is required for our client, a leading UK provider of maintenance, asset management, design, and consultancy and specialist services, working in the highways sector.Within this, the successful Senior Ecologist will ensure compliance with legislative requirements relating to ecology in all the activities our client undertakes, ensuring that the environmental impact to ecology is understood and minimised as far as reasonable practicable.Key accountabilities of this role include;·To deliver the environmental schemes, studies and provide environmental advice for other disciplines with respect to ecology to delivery the outcomes agreed to programmes and budgets.·To provide ecology advice, assessments, designs and specifications for highways and structures schemes to deliver the outcomes agreed to programmes and budgets.·To advise the construction teams with regard to environmental requirements and legislation.·To undertake ecological surveys and assessments as required.·To ensure that the ecology section of the Environment Team has adequate training and resources in association with the Environment Team Leader.·To agree the briefs, programmes and budgets.·To ensure environmental designs, studies, surveys and investigations are appropriate and meet the expected levels of technical excellence with regards to ecology.·To ensure all ecology works are in accordance with ISO 14001.As the Senior Ecologist you will hold a Chartered membership of the IEEM and have completed 5 days of CPD in last 12 months including 3 related to Environmental Management and Ecology.You will have basic Project Management Skills and be competent in all areas related to Environmental Management.You will also hold a CSCS Supervisor (Gold) Card and ideally have a detailed understanding of Environmental requirements of highway schemes.For further information or to apply for this position please contact matthew immediately (matthew@milsom.uk.com)The services provided by Milsom are those of a recruitment agency.
