Description: **Teacher of Behaviour Support Manager** Mixed 11-18 school **Permanent contract **Essex LEA **NQT’s Welcome or Experienced Teachers. ** TLR 2b A very popular and oversubscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive school based in Essex are looking to recruit a Behaviour Support Teacher to head up the new Learning Support Unit (LSU). This position is a permanent role due to start September 2008. The LSU will provide an additional means of intervention and support for students who are at risk of exclusion, particularly those for whom other strategies have proven ineffective and who are at risk of permanent exclusion from school. The LSU will be overseen by a qualified teacher working with 2 Learning Support Assistants. The Teaching and Learning Responsibility point payable to the Teacher in charge of the LSU will be TLR2b. Oversight of the LSU will be through the line management of the Deputy Headteacher (Pastoral & Extended Services). The Governors Staff/Student Committee will ensure proper scrutiny and governance as part of their standing agenda and self review processes. The LSU will cater for no more than 6 students at any time. The scheduled timetable for students within the LSU will commence and finish at the same times as that followed by the rest of the school but morning break and lunch will be taken by students apart from the rest of the school, either by timing or segregation. Individual subject teachers will be expected to provide appropriate work for students as required by the programme of support for individual students. This includes making and report writing as necessary. All arrangements for admission, monitoring, teaching & learning and re-integration will be discussed with parents. .
