Description: My client is a Designers and manufacturers of interior and exterior lighting for commercial, industrial, healthcare and leisure applications.Key Responsibilities: To develop and manage new, mainstream and bespoke product linesShort term objectives* Improve efficiency of the technical department and communicate technical knowledge tointernal and external staff* Produce product development plan.* To work closely with Sales Engineers and Clients on specific product requirements andtechnical data.* To arrange productive and regular product development meetings* Improve on time scales for new product launches enabling sales to provide a quickerroute to market.* To compile and amend BOM requirements for new and modified products.* Identify the current strengths and weakness of the technical and design department.* Develop effective and efficient procedures of communication between Technical andProduction* To motivate and manage a dedicated team of designers and techniciansLong term objectives* To strengthen the Technical and Design department using contacts from specific marketfields and introducing new suppliers either in the UK or International.* Implement product training. Taking full responsibility for managing the product trainingfor new recruits and to provide continuous product support.* Achieve target objectives set by the Board* Implement corporate objectives ( planned growth ) for product development on bothbought in and my clients manufactured luminaires.Operational activity5 days office based Monday - Thursday 8:30 - 5:00 Friday 8:30 - 3:30Supplier and client site visits will be necessary and will be planned in accordance withcurrent work load.
