Description: The role:Working for a leading, multinational media and entertainment organisation you will support the Financial Accountant in the monthly close of accounts whilst taking particular responsibility for inventory reporting. Your main responsibilities will include:Monthly analysis and journals.Price variance reporting.Posting journals for variances.Prepare monthly stock spreadsheets from stock system.Analyse stock movements (sales, returns, etc).Clearing unallocated title costs.Posting actual and accrual journals for Product Cost and completing profit and loss and balance sheet analysis.Complete balance sheet analysis for Inventory accounts and Anticipated Returns.Posting actual and accrual journals for Product Variance and completing profit and loss and balance sheet analysis and prepare by title report on Inventory Revaluation.Posting actual and accrual journals.Prepare month end Obsolescence journals and SMI Schedule and profit and loss and balance sheet analysis and prepare by title report on Inventory Write Offs.Prepare cash analysis monthly.Ensure all journals from previous month have reversed.Balance sheet reclasses.Prepare inventory schedules for management pack.Maintain standard costs and allocation of variances.Responsible for processing of stock and stock creditors.Prepare intrastat forms.Investigate any differences/errors on stock at distribution locations.Assist Operations with inventory and product cost queries.Ad-hoc projects for inventory process improvement.The candidate:You should be a part qualified accountant with the following experience and skills:Good spreadsheet skills (excel or similar)Confident IT skills for use of in-house package (VFDS, SAP, Business Objects)Good communication skillsAbility to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlinesUnderstanding of standard costing principlesAbility to work on own initiative and in a team environmentThis role is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to enhance their skills and experience in a challenging and diverse environment.
