Description: We require an experienced Commodity Manager for a company working in the Defence / Avionics industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to source and develop suppliers and teaming partners capable of meeting customer requirements.You will be responsible for:The selection of and negotiation with major suppliers to achieve on time delivery at an agreed price and lowest cost of ownership.The purchase of all materials for both manufacturing and engineering. Developing a strategic approach to supply chain management and implement best practise techniques.Facilitating the use of the intranet as a means of trading with the supply base.The ideal candidate is likely to be experienced with managing M.R.P and major sub-contracts within the Military sector. A self starter capable of negotiating both internally and with the supplier base to achieve the goals of the business.
