Description:
This role is to primarily support the management of third party expenditure and ongoing supplier management for the airline businesses of TUI Travel PLC in the field of Flight & Ground Operations Aviation Purchasing, with particular focus on areas such as Ground Handling, and Airports. Achieve best ultimate commercial cost and Contracts within the context of total cost of ownership (TCO) and quality requirements. This role will require the candidate to work closely with senior airline stakeholders, team colleagues and suppliers across multiple countries. Covering the purchasing and supplier management of both high value/ high risk and low value/high risk contracts. Building and maintaining relationships to support the maximisation of quality and service delivery to internal group customers. The buyer will be responsible for identification and delivery of sustained group wide synergies within their portfolio.The role will be based in either Germany or the UK and contract focus would be predominantly Destination Airports. Overseas travel will feature heavily including particular emphasis on working in the UK and Germany.What You'll Be DoingResponsible for the development and ownership of their portfolio's strategy within the Category in line with customer and Purchasing Management Board Requirements.Responsible for strategy, tactics and plans to ensure delivery of bought in goods and services at the lowest ultimate cost, in area of responsibility to agreed targets.Responsible for supporting the Purchasing process to meet audit and compliance requirements.Responsible for agreeing targets and priorities with and managing the relationship with internal customers to meet / exceed expectations.Responsible for the Identification and delivery of synergies and savings benefits across all airline businesses in TUI Travel PLC.Responsible for leading and coordinating of sourcing activities within Portfolio agreed with customer areas. Responsible for supplier relationship management processes.Accountable for clear communication of agreed strategy, purchasing updates, contract information.Responsible for planning, coordination and prioritisation of support for all activities and projects agreed with airline customer areas.Responsible for ensuring the right contractual conditions are in place to manage TUI Travel PLC risk and those of subsidiary companies.Accountable for providing any additional support to the Director Destination Airports and Aviation team when needed.Management of high value high contractual relationships with major impact on the commercial success of the businessEnsuring contractual quality standards and adherence is fully achieved. Ensuring that operational risk is kept to an absolute minimum through commercial levers.What We're looking ForPrevious and proven commercial negotiation and contracting skills in an aviation environment.Proven track record of leadership, prioritisation and managing under pressure.Extensive understanding of contractual legal terms & conditionsWillingness to frequently travel within/outside Source Market .Strong Communication, influencing and persuading skillsFriendly, professional and highly customer focused approachAbility to lead, prioritise and manage complex projects and sourcing activities under pressure, and deliver on time.Ability to manage and analyse complex data under pressureUnderstanding of cultural differences and ability to cultivate win ?win solutions.Excellent change management skills for both self and cultivating in others.Excellent Negotiation and Strategic Sourcing abilityStrong Contracting Ability (1-5 years experience)Graduate CalibreDemonstrate record in use of eSourcing tools and understanding of their wider implicationGerman & English would be an advantageGood proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
